Prius Repair and Service: Hybrid Vehicle Repair Tips

prius-serive-repair-murrietaHybrids are generally low maintenance vehicles.  The do not usually require as much auto service or maintenance work as other vehicles on the road today.

In fact, many parts that are commonly brought in for repair and replacement on other cars and trucks do not cause problems in hybrids in the same way.  For instance, we don’t see our local customers coming in for hybrid repair and service for brakes or spark plugs, because these parts last longer on these kinds of vehicles.

Hybrid Vehicle Repair and Service in Murrieta: What Our Auto Service Pros See

Now that hybrids like the Prius have been on the road for longer, we are starting to see drivers coming in with older models in need of repair and service.

The most common thing we see, often from older cars like the 2006 and 2007 model Prius, is the check engine light alert.

As with all vehicles, when you see your check engine light go off, it is important to come in to a trusted shop for Prius repair and service.

Why Do I Need Prius Repair and Service?

In many cases, we have found that the reason for the check engine light alert in these older Priuses, is an issue with the electric water pump.

Our trained hybrid vehicle repair and service professionals are able to repair or replace the electric water pump as needed, enabling you to get back on the road quickly and easily.

Why is Hybrid Vehicle Repair and Service Important?

Even though the parts in hybrid vehicles have a long lifecycle and Prius and other hybrids have proven themselves to be reliable, low maintenance vehicles, it is still important to pay attention to the care and maintenance of your car.  If you encounter a check engine light, if you have seen changes in performance or handling, or if you hear unfamiliar noises coming from your car, bring it in to us.

We are well trained and have been working with these cars since they came on the market.  We are here to answer any questions you have about hybrid vehicle repair and service in Murrieta, and we are happy to do so.

It is good to see that more and more mechanics are learning how to work on hybrid vehicles It seems like you really have to stay up to date in order to be efficient in this business. I have always thought that working in auto repair services would be really cool.

  2. Delores Lyon says:

I agree that it is important to have good maintenance on your hybrid car. Because part of the car uses electricity, repairs on it are different than on other gas powered cars. If I had a Prius, I would definitely make sure to take to a specialist who knows exactly how to take care of my car.

  3. Jamie Reed says:

I’ve recently bought a hybrid car to help save money on gas. My new car has been experiencing some troubles recently, so I need to find a way to fix it. I usually fix my car myself, but I’m a bit stumped on what I need to do to fix a hybrid. It’s good to know that I can find the parts that I need for a hybrid at an auto repair shop.
