Dual Zone Climate Control A/C Problems in Toyota: Why We See this Common A/C Service Need

inland-auto-murrieta-toyota-air-conditioner-repairOne of the common problems we see is drivers who have issues with dual zone climate control.  Climate zone issues, which are found in all vehicles, including Toyota cars and trucks, is a common reason customers see us for auto air conditioning repair in Murrieta.

Typically, the problems we spot during A/C service have to do with a dual zone climate control where one side blows warmer than the other, even though they are set at the same temperature.

What are Dual Zones and How Do they Affect A/C Service Issues?

Dual zone climate control is designed to allow the driver and the passenger to have separate controls for individualized comfort.  However, sometimes, especially when it’s hot out, you want both sides to blow air that is as cold as possible. This is common with certain Toyota models and this is how the factory delivers the vehicle when it’s new. While it’s not a safety concern or technically a problem, some Toyota owners are interested making modifications that will improve the look of their vehicle. Prius Repair and Service: Hybrid Vehicle Repair Tips

prius-serive-repair-murrietaHybrids are generally low maintenance vehicles.  The do not usually require as much auto service or maintenance work as other vehicles on the road today.

In fact, many parts that are commonly brought in for repair and replacement on other cars and trucks do not cause problems in hybrids in the same way.  For instance, we don’t see our local customers coming in for hybrid repair and service for brakes or spark plugs, because these parts last longer on these kinds of vehicles. Murrieta Auto Service Question: How Do Cabin Air Filters Work and Why Do They Require Maintenance?

murrieta-toyota-cabin-filterThe job of a cabin filter is to keep the air inside your car or truck clean and comfortable.  Your vehicle’s cabin air filter keeps your heat and air conditioner (the whole HVAC system of your vehicle) running properly to give you the cabin air quality that you need.

What Does the Cabin Air Filter Do?

Like any filter, your car’s cabin filter prevents unwanted particles from passing through.  In this case, cabin air filters protect your vehicle’s HVAC system from bacteria, dust and pollen.  Cabin air filters also, and importantly, prevent exhaust gas from entering into your heating and A/C ventilation systems.
